"Why anyone would choose a life of crime in a city full of heroes is beyond me."I can't attribute it to anybody because I can't remember where it came from. I read it somewhere though, maybe one of the old CoH forums but a search has proved futile. No idea why it suddenly popped into my head.
It was a pretty apt quote though. There were villians everywhere which were, in reality, little more than cannon fodder for all the heroes rampaging around. CoH had one great mechanic which made so much sense, one that seems to have vanished from modern MMO's. A mob more than five levels below a passing hero would know it was futile to attack and left that hero alone. Modern MMO's have cannon fodder mobs which attack even player characters 40 levels above them - they are little more than a nuisance.
Maybe one day we'll see something like City of Heroes again, that'll be something to hope for.
